American businesswoman and reality television star Khloé Kardashian has shared a heartfelt birthday tribute to her former partner Tristan Thompson’s younger brother, Amari Thompson, celebrating the special bond they have built over the years.

The Keeping Up with the Kardashians star took to Instagram on Tuesday, July 28, to mark Amari’s 20th birthday with an emotional message, describing him as a blessing whose kindness and spirit have touched everyone around him. Alongside the message, Khloé shared a series of photos capturing some of their cherished family moments.

“Happy Birthday sweet Amari ♥️ v Some people change the world with their words. You change it simply by being you. Your heart, your spirit, and your light say everything that words never could.”

Khloé went on to praise Amari for reminding those around him to appreciate the simple things in life. She said his strength, love and resilience continue to inspire everyone fortunate enough to know him, adding that he has taught their family the true meaning of gratitude and unconditional love.

“You are one of God’s gentlest reminders of what truly matters. Everyone who knows you is better because of you. Thank you for reminding us every single day how we should be so completely grateful for the smallest of things and what unconditional love, joy, grace, resilience, and gratitude truly look like. We love you more than you’ll ever know. Happy 20th Birthday, our sweet angel ✨,” the businesswoman expressed.

Although Khloé and Tristan ended their on-and-off relationship several years ago, the two have remained committed to co-parenting their children, daughter True and son Tatum. Their family connection has also remained intact, allowing Khloé to maintain a close relationship with Amari despite her split from the NBA player.

Amari’s condition

Amari has Lennox-Gastaut syndrome, a rare and severe form of epilepsy that causes frequent seizures and requires full-time care. Following the death of his mother, Andrea Thompson, in January 2023, Tristan became responsible for his younger brother’s care. Khloé has since played an active role in supporting Amari, often welcoming him into her home and including him in family activities.

The reality star has previously spoken about how important Amari is to her family, revealing that caring for him has taught her children valuable lessons about kindness, patience and compassion. She has said that having Amari around has been a gift, not only for her but also for her children, who have grown up learning to embrace people with different abilities.

In past interviews and episodes of The Kardashians, Khloé has explained that Amari frequently spends time at her home, where he is surrounded by family and professional caregivers. She has also noted that California’s climate is better suited to his health needs while Tristan’s basketball schedule often keeps him travelling, making it easier for the family to work together in ensuring Amari receives the best possible care.

Over the years, Khloé has celebrated Amari’s birthdays, invited him to holiday gatherings and made sure he is included in major family milestones.
