Jennifer Lopez reveals why washing dishes makes men attractive

Hollywood star Jennifer Lopez has shared what she believes makes a man truly attractive, saying it has little to do with luxury cars, expensive watches or private jets.
Speaking during her Dolce & Gabbana Alta Moda performance on Thursday, July 23, 2026, the singer and actress explained that while material success can be impressive, she is more drawn to men who are willing to help with everyday household chores and show consideration for their partners.
Lopez said simple acts such as making the bed in the morning or washing the dishes after a long day are what she finds genuinely attractive.
“Do you know what makes a man really attractive? It is not the car, not the watch, and not the private jet, although that is nice. It is seeing them make the bed in the morning or wash the dishes for you when you are tired that is what I call sexy,” Lopez said.
According to Lopez, these thoughtful gestures reflect care, partnership, and a willingness to share responsibilities in a relationship.
The actress noted that women often shoulder many household responsibilities, making it meaningful when their partners step in to help without being asked.
“Because we ladies do all the things,” she added.
Beyond wealth and status
Lopez’s comments challenge the common perception that a man’s attractiveness is defined by wealth or luxury.
Instead, she argued that respect, empathy, and being an active partner in everyday life are the qualities that truly stand out.
For many couples, sharing simple household tasks such as making the bed, washing dishes, or helping with other chores can strengthen relationships by reducing stress and demonstrating mutual care.
Lopez on financial independence
Lopez also addressed the perception that she is “expensive,” saying many people assume she expects men to spend lavishly on her because of her lifestyle and success.
“People look at me; they have looked at me for years, and they think I am expensive, and I am. I am expensive, but I have my own money,” she said.
She stressed that women do not need men to buy them expensive gifts to feel valued, noting that financial independence does not diminish the importance of thoughtful gestures.
“Ladies, I am right, aren’t I? we do not need anyone to buy us anything; we don’t, we want them to sometimes; that is nice,” Lopez added.
