Guardian Angel’s wife, Esther Musila, has shared a deeply emotional recollection of the day she lost her mother 10 years ago, describing it as the darkest moment of her life.

In a Facebook post on Saturday, May 30, 2026, Esther revealed that she received a shocking phone call informing her that her mother had passed away in her sleep, just hours after she and her brother had visited her at their rural home in Machakos.

She said the sudden news left her in disbelief, noting that it felt unreal, almost like a dream she would eventually wake from.

“10 years ago, I received a call that my dearest mum had passed away in her sleep. This was less than 12 hrs after my brother Fred and I had been to shags for the weekend. It was the darkest day in our lives. I still don’t know how we found the strength to drive to Machakos; it actually felt like a dream, and we would snap out of it,” she wrote.

Esther explained that she still cannot fully understand how she and her brother managed to drive to Machakos after receiving the news, describing the journey as emotionally overwhelming and filled with shock and confusion.

According to her, the day remains permanently etched in her memory as the darkest period of her life, one that changed her forever.

“I truly believe to this day that the Almighty worked it out in his own way and wanted us to spend the last hours of mum’s life with her,” she added.

Despite the pain, Esther said she believes there was a divine purpose in how events unfolded, expressing gratitude that she and her brother were able to spend the last hours of their mother’s life with her.

She went on to pay tribute to her late mother, describing her as her anchor in life and a strong woman who taught her to appreciate every single day and live fully without taking life for granted.

“Mum, thank you for being my anchor in life. You taught me to appreciate every single day of my LIFE and live like there is no tomorrow. I was raised by a strong woman and I know you always got my back, mum,” she added.

Esther added that she was raised by a powerful and supportive mother, saying she always feels her presence and believes she continues to watch over her.

She also expressed regret that her mother never got the chance to meet her current husband, Guardian Angel, noting that she believes her mother would have been happy for her in this new chapter of her life.

“Rest in Power, my dearest mum. I treasure the LIFE we shared. I carry 2 tattoos on my body in memory of you. Mum, I honestly wish you had lived a little longer to meet the most wonderful man in my life now. I know you’d be so happy to see me in this new space, and I bet you we would have been singing your favourite hymns together. I wasn’t able to do a hymn this year, 😪but I know GOD HAS TRULY FAVOURED ME,” she wrote.

The content creator further reflected on the emotional weight of the anniversary, admitting that even after a decade, the pain of losing her mother remains deeply present.

“We miss you and love you forever, Mummy,” she wrote.
