Veteran musician Mwanaisha Abdalla, famously known as Nyota Ndogo, has said her life story is powerful enough to be turned into a film that could succeed on Netflix.

The singer explained that there are many parts of her life that the public does not know about and believes they would make a compelling story for filmmakers.

“If the filmmakers pay me, I can give them the storyline of my life. There are things you don’t even know about me, and I believe it would make a powerful story that could sell on Netflix,” Nyota Ndogo said on Tuesday, June 23, 2026.

The musician explained that real-life experiences often connect with people more than fictional stories. She said many events from her own life remain untold and could form the basis of a strong production.

“I have realised that people love true stories more than made-up ones,” Nyota Ndogo said.

According to the singer, one of the most emotional parts of her story is connected to her father. She explained that his life had carried many difficult experiences that had never been shared publicly.

“My father’s story alone is heartbreaking and carries so many emotions. There is a lot that people have never heard,” Nyota Ndogo said.

Untold experiences

Nyota Ndogo also noted that every person has a story worth telling. She explained that life experiences often carry lessons, struggles, and moments that can inspire others when shared.

“Hata wewe ulipo upo na story,” Nyota Ndogo said.

Her remarks come months after she spoke about her childhood and why she was unable to complete her education. During an interview on February 7, 2026, she explained that family and personal challenges affected her schooling from an early age.

“Mimi nimezaliwa Mombasa hapo Coast General. Nikasoma pale, nikafika darasa la saba. Nafikiri hata hiyo ya saba term ya pili sikufika,” Nyota Ndogo said.

The singer explained that she was born under difficult circumstances, which affected her development as a child. She said those challenges made it difficult for her to keep up with school and contributed to her leaving before completing primary education.

“Mimi nilizaliwa nilipokua na miezi sita. Mama yangu alianguka chooni. Mtoto wa miezi sita, wanakua pole pole. Na kidogo hiwa wapole. So nilikua mpole sana,” Nyota Ndogo said.

She added that people who knew her during her childhood would hardly believe how quiet and gentle she was while growing up.
