Dr Ofweneke pays visit to Stevo Simple Boy after Andrew Kibe’s controversial remarks
By William Muthama, June 29, 2026Media personality and comedian Dr Ofweneke has paid a personal visit to musician Stevo Simple Boy at his home, days after publicly apologising over controversial remarks made by Andrew Kibe on the Lessons at 30 podcast.
In a video shared on the night of Sunday, June 28, 2026, Ofweneke arrived carrying shopping for the singer and spent time with him and his family, describing the visit as an opportunity to apologise in person and reaffirm his support.
The visit comes after Andrew Kibe sparked widespread criticism by claiming during the podcast that people like Stevo Simple Boy should not have children.
The comments drew backlash from Kenyans, prompting Ofweneke, who hosts the show, to take responsibility for allowing the remarks to air.
Personal apology
While seated with Stevo at his home, Ofweneke assured the musician that his worth was not defined by his appearance or the criticism directed at him online.
“Nobody’s life is a beauty contest. Nobody cares about how you look. They care about the work you bring into people’s lives,” Ofweneke told him.
He went on to promise that he would continue standing by the singer and his family.

“I’ll continue supporting you as I’ve always done. I will stand by you even more now because God had a reason. From the bottom of my heart, I’m sorry, and I love you so much,” he said.
Ofweneke also revealed that Stevo would appear on a future episode of Lessons at 30 to share his life story.
Addressing Kenyans, the media personality thanked those who criticised him, saying he had accepted the feedback and learnt from the incident.
“I humbly accept the positive criticism. From the bottom of my heart, I’m really sorry. We live to learn and fight another day,” he said.
Stevo responds
Stevo Simple Boy also expressed gratitude to Ofweneke for supporting him during the difficult period.
“Thank you so much, my brother, Dr Ofweneke, for standing with me, defending me and encouraging me during this difficult time. Today, you took your time to visit me personally and comfort me, something that my family and I truly appreciate. Thank you for your genuine friendship, love and support. May God bless you abundantly,” he wrote.
