Could Zuchu inherit any of Diamond’s property after their breakup? Here’s all we know

By , July 15, 2026

Just hours before his longtime partner Zuchu publicly announced the end of their six-year relationship, Tanzanian music superstar Diamond Platnumz made a heartfelt declaration about his wealth that has since attracted renewed attention, revealing that everything he owns belongs to his mother, Mama Dangote.

The emotional remarks came during Mama Dangote’s lavish 59th birthday celebration on the night of July 11, 2026, where the award-winning singer surprised her with an array of extravagant gifts, including a luxury Rolex watch valued at 160 million Tanzanian shillings (approximately Ksh7.8 million), alongside expensive gold jewellery and bangles purchased in Dubai.

While presenting the gifts before family members and close friends, Diamond went beyond celebrating his mother’s birthday and opened up about the special place she occupies in his life, insisting that there is no separation between his assets and hers.

According to the Jeje hitmaker, he does not believe in distinguishing between “his house” and “his mother’s house,” maintaining that everything he has worked for belongs to the woman who raised and supported him long before fame found him.

“And I brought her various accessories, and we don’t have things like my house or her house. All my wealth is my mother’s property, and I should not lie about that or beat around corners. You will not hear anyone else because all that is mine is hers. And I love her because she also loves things to do with accessories,” he said.

The declaration came moments after Diamond unveiled the lavish gifts, explaining that he deliberately chose jewellery because he knows his mother has always loved accessories.

The emotional occasion also saw Diamond reflect on one of the darkest chapters of his life before becoming one of Africa’s biggest music stars.

He recalled secretly taking his mother’s ring and selling it so he could raise enough money to record his very first song, admitting that the desperate decision eventually changed the trajectory of his music career.

According to the singer, the memory has remained with him ever since, explaining why he now finds joy in buying expensive jewellery for his mother whenever he gets the opportunity.

“In the story of my life, I remember my mum supported me so much. I remember when I left home to go record my first song, I stole my mum’s ring and went to sell it so I could record the song. So now, even when I see diamonds, I feel I should buy them for my mum. I want to thank her so much,” he said.

His remarks have since resurfaced following Zuchu’s announcement that she and Diamond had ended their relationship after six years together.

The singer, whose real name is Zuhura Othman, confirmed the separation in an emotional statement shared on social media on July 12, 2026, saying she had chosen to prioritise her healing, health and career after the relationship came to an end.

Her announcement came hours after fans noticed she was absent from Mama Dangote’s star-studded birthday celebration, an absence that fuelled widespread speculation online before she eventually confirmed the breakup herself.
