Nigerian singer Ayra Starr has revealed that she is recovering from an endometriosis surgery, saying she is gradually getting back to normal.
The singer shared the update on her Instagram page late on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, while showing her stomach near the area where she underwent the operation.
Ayra said she is healing well and is beginning to regain her strength as she continues with her recovery.
“I’m starting to get my abs back, endometriosis healing and my albums are also selling,” Ayra Starr said.
Ayra Starr reveals reason for surgery
The update comes months after the singer first told her fans that she had undergone a major operation.
On July 30, 2026, Ayra shared a message on her Instagram Stories explaining that she had undergone surgery a few days earlier. At the time, she did not reveal what the operation was for.
She said her recovery had taken longer than she had expected because the procedure was more complicated than doctors had initially thought. The singer also apologised to her fans for being less active online and asked them to give her time to recover.
“I’m sorry you’re not seeing as much of me as I would like. I had major surgery a few days ago. I was hoping it would be a quick recovery, but it was more complicated than they expected. I just need a bit of rest, and I’ll be back,” she wrote.
Her message came after fans noticed that she had become less active on social media, where she regularly shares updates about her music and daily life.

Despite taking time away from the public eye to recover, Ayra has continued to keep her music plans moving.
During her earlier health update, the singer also encouraged her fans to support her upcoming project, Starrgirl. She expressed excitement about returning to work once she had recovered.
Her latest update suggests that she is gradually returning to her usual routine while continuing to heal from the procedure.
