Sky Victor, the elder daughter of late gospel singer Betty Bayo, has opened up about how her passing influenced her music listening preferences, saying she now mostly listens to her mum’s songs.

Speaking during a TikTok live on Sunday, March 15, Sky shared that since last year, she has found herself drawn almost exclusively to her mother’s music.

According to her, the change in her listening habits happened naturally, and she now enjoys listening to all of her mum’s songs more than any other music.

“Oh, I see someone asked what my favourite song is. I don’t know what happened, but ever since last year I have really been loving my mum’s songs so much, every single one of them,” she said.

Sky explained that she has grown so fond of the songs that she has memorised nearly all of them, despite the fact that some are performed in Kikuyu while others are in Swahili.

She said the songs have become her favourites and that she enjoys revisiting each of them.

“I have even memorised all of them, even though some are in Kikuyu and others are in Swahili,” she stated.

The young girl also noted that besides her mother’s music, she enjoys listening to gospel songs in general and mentioned that she also likes songs by Kenyan gospel singer Size 8.

“I also love songs by Size 8, and lately I really enjoy gospel songs as well,” Sky added.

At the same time, Sky revealed that there is one non-gospel song she particularly enjoys listening to.

She said she has developed a strong liking for a track by South African pop star Tyla, adding that she plays it so frequently that even her family members have become very familiar with it.

“But there is another song I love so much; it’s by Tyla. I love it so much and listen to it a lot, until even my family knows it because I play it all the time,” Sky said.

Grammy moment

In a separate report, Sky confidently envisioned her future as a Grammy Award winner.

In a video shared on her YouTube channel on Saturday, February 21, 2026, Sky shared a vivid and playful description of how she believes her big moment on the global stage will unfold, expressing both confidence and humour as she spoke about her dreams.

“I imagine that moment when they announce, ‘And the Grammy goes to Sky Victor.’ I would probably react with shock, then start crying,” she said.

She imagined the moment her name would be called out at the prestigious Grammy Awards, saying she would initially react with shock before breaking down in tears.

According to her, she would then walk up to the stage and deliver an emotional acceptance speech reflecting on her hard work and achievements.

Sky went on to jokingly imagine herself thanking the audience while claiming it would already be her fifth Grammy win.

“And then walk to the front and say, ‘I just want to say that I have been working very hard for this, and this is my fifth one this week, my fifth Grammy, and I am so, so grateful,” she said.

Despite the humour, the young talent made it clear that her aspirations are serious.

She expressed strong belief in her future success, noting that she is certain she will one day win a Grammy and look back at the video as proof that she manifested her dream.

“But honestly, I’m not even sure if I would cry. And just to put it out there, I am going to win a Grammy one day, and I will look back at this video and say, Oh, you manifested it,” she added.
