Size 8 sends uplifting message to Kenyans on thriving in tough economic times

Gospel singer and preacher Linet Munyali, alias Size 8, has shared an inspiring message with Kenyans, urging them not to be discouraged by the prevailing economic hardships but instead to walk by faith and trust in God’s divine provision.
Speaking in a video shared on her Instagram on Sunday, August 17, 2025, the ‘Mateke’ hitmaker acknowledged that many people are currently lamenting about the economy, describing it as harsh and difficult.
She, however, encouraged Kenyans to look beyond the challenges and embrace the promises of God, stressing that even in a struggling economy, Christians can still thrive.
“Many people are complaining that the economy in our country is not good, that our economy is hard. But I want to talk to a Christian who wants to walk by faith and not by sight,” she said.
She went on to add that the tough financial situation is not unique to Kenya, but is being experienced across the world, yet God’s word assures His people that they can flourish regardless of their circumstances.
Drawing from scripture, Size 8 reminded Christians that they are a royal priesthood and a chosen generation whose origin is rooted not in earthly struggles but in heaven, with God as their Father. She emphasised that believers must draw their strength and identity from this truth.
“I want to tell this Christian listening to me that in this bad economy that we have right now, not only in Kenya but in the entire world, you as a Christian can thrive in this economy because the Bible says we are a royal priesthood, a chosen generation,” the singer added.

In her sermon, she made reference to the biblical story of Isaac, who planted crops in times of uncertainty and still harvested a hundredfold.
She used this example to encourage Kenyans that even in today’s difficult economic dispensation, God has the power to cause His people to rise and succeed in all they do.
She explained that while the economy might not offer stability, faith in God provides a firm foundation.
“In this dispensation where the economy is nothing to really depend on because things are horrible, you as a Kenyan, God has the ability to grow you until you become very great even in this season in everything that you are doing,” she noted.
Size 8 also cautioned Christians against despair and passivity, urging them not to simply sit back and complain about the economy, but to act with faith and trust in God’s promises.
She assured believers that divine grace can enable them to overcome the hurdles of the present times and still prosper.
“You can become very great even in this season, in everything that you are doing. Do not just sit and say you do not know what to do because the economy is bad.”
