Pastor Kanyari recalls daughter clapping back after urging her to ditch crop tops

Salvation Healing Ministry founder Victor Kanyari has recalled receiving a cold clapback from his daughter, Sky, after trying to advise her to stop wearing outfits he considers indecent.

Speaking during his Wednesday, May 20, 2026, midweek service, Kanyari revealed that his daughter enjoys wearing crop tops, an outfit style he admitted he is not particularly fond of.

“Sky likes to wear this attire that reveals the whole stomach. What is it called? Crop tops, yes. She likes them so much, but I don’t like them that much,” he said.

The preacher explained that he once attempted to lecture her about the outfits, hoping to discourage her from wearing clothes that reveal the stomach area.

However, according to Kanyari, his daughter quickly reminded him about one of his own sermons where he had advised children to stick to children’s fashion while adults focus on adult attire.

The pastor said Sky used his own preaching against him, telling him that since crop tops are clothes commonly worn by young people, he should focus only on adult clothing and stop interfering with children’s fashion choices.

“I remember she was there when I preached about children sticking to children’s clothes and adults sticking to adult clothes. So when I spoke to her about the crop tops she was wearing, she reminded me that I had said children should stick to children’s attire and adults to theirs,” the preacher shared.

Kanyari admitted that he was left with no argument after the response and decided to agree with his daughter’s reasoning.

The preacher then jokingly added that his age and body shape would not even allow him to wear crop tops, humourously imagining how odd it would look if he attempted the fashion trend himself.

“So she told me I should also focus on adult clothes. I did not argue with her; I just agreed. That is why you see I am dressed like an adult, I cannot wear a crop top. Now imagine me with my big belly wearing a crop top. Haha,” Kanyari added.
