Siaya: Police issue warning after collecting lifeless body of man caught stealing motorbike

Siaya Officer Commanding Station Henry Rono has asked motorbike and taxi owners to remain vigilant during the December Christmas festive season so as to protect their vehicles from theft.
Rono made the remarks after police collected a lifeless body of a 36 year old man caught stealing a motorbike at Club Rocket in Siaya town on Monday, December 1, 2025.
The deceased from Samia was part of the revellers enjoying liquors at the Club Rocket.
In 2024, a client had lost his new Probox at the Club Rocket.
It is the incidences that saw the OCS be careful and ensure they are aware of potential risks and take precautions.

Owners of the machines should be mindful of their surroundings, not picking up suspicious passengers and securing their vehicles properly.
“Even your homes are not safe for the vehicles, so remain alert,” he said.
Residents of a Murang’a village have decried increased theft of their livestock and chicken during curfew hours.
Meanwhile, the residents of Nyandiwa and Gaangu villages in Alego Usonga sub county demand action by police after losing their livestock to thieves.
According to George Rabut, who is a victim from Gangu, Nyalaji, I have been notified that five of my cows were stolen on Saturday.
They wondered why the theft of their animals has increased ahead of the festive season.
The residents said that in the past few days they have been spending their nights awake so as to guard their animals from being stolen.

Some of the locals claimed that they were forced to keep their goats and cows in their main houses in fear of being taken away by a group of goons who have been terrorising the villagers.
The residents said that despite having made numerous reports at Siaya police station, a report dismissed by the OCS.
Rabut said they have had enough and asked the police to hasten investigations and bring to book the culprits.
“I have noticed that the police officers at Siaya police stations have not been backing up the chief and assistant chief, and that gap has made it very hard for the administrators to follow up on such cases,” he said.
Rabut said locals cannot continue to lose their livestock and asked the police to handle the matter once and for all.
