Police in Kitengela have arrested a 24-year-old assailant after she stabbed her 38-year-old husband to death at Orata, Kitengela, Kajiado County.

The deceased succumbed to the thigh stab injury while receiving treatment. He worked as a tout, while his wife is a shoe vendor.

Confirming the incident, Isinya Subcounty police commander Simon Lokitari said investigations into the incident have been launched to ensure justice prevails.

“Life is precious and everybody should know that it is a crime and ungodly to terminate life. It is sad indeed that life has been lost. I would like to appeal to couples to ensure they resolve their issues mutually,” Lokitari said.

Lokitari urged the public to refrain from taking the law into their hands during conflicts and instead solve them mutually.

The couple, who had spent the day together attending a church service, quarrelled on Sunday, September 14, 2015, evening, resulting in the fatal physical fight.

Elsewhere, shock gripped Njiru Sub-County after a man killed his wife in cold blood.

Called pleading for help

According to Reuben Thuku Njuguna, the deceased father, the assailant called him pleading for help, saying they had a dispute which prompted her to stab him on the leg.

“Good Samaritans and neighbours rushed the deceased to the nearby Kitengela Sub-County hospital, where he was shortly pronounced dead. They had lived together for two years, a marriage that had been marred by domestic violence,” he said.

He says the woman had stabbed his son in the chest in another incident and attempted to stab him while at the in-laws’ home.

According to Njuguna, the family’s effort to rally the couple to separate following numerous life-threatening conflicts was futile.

“I received a call from my daughter-in-law that he had been stabbed by her son following an argument and that he was bleeding profusely. She sounded so tense, but I calmed her and urged her to call neighbours to rush him to the hospital. Unfortunately, my son succumbed to the injuries, “Njuguna narrated.

Njuguna called on the investigating agencies to ensure justice prevails while rallying well-wishers to help him bury his son in Nakuru, saying the family has no financial capacity to facilitate burial arrangements.

The person of interest is being held at Kitengela police station, awaiting arraignment in Kajiado law court on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, while the body is preserved in Kitengela sub-county hospital’s funeral home.
