Webston Kimani opens up on age difference with lover Zippy Okoth

When it comes to romantic relationships, age is nothing but just a number, what truly matters is love and the intention of both parties. This rings true in the love story of YouTuber Webston Kimani and award-winning filmmaker and lecturer Zippy Okoth.
Speaking during a candid interview with Oduor Jagero, Kimani revealed that Zippy is older than him by almost ten years, however, he says that age is not a deciding factor in a relationship, and he is not bothered by the huge gap.
He added that as long as there is love and an understanding between the couple, the age gap should not be an issue.
“Zippy is older than me with about 10 years,” he disclosed.
“I do not think about it because I am not a believer of age should be a deciding factor on anything. The most important thing is if you guys do first love each other, are you able to connect and understand each other? Can you sit down and have a conversation and understand each other?”
According to the YouTuber, the issue of age as a determining factor in relationships is a social pressure which most people succumb to.
“If all the things you can do, it does not matter how old a person is. These things people say – I cannot date a younger person is just for society,” Kimani stated.
“Most of the time, we do a lot of things for society and people, and we forget ourselves. We sometimes sacrifice our happiness just because of what other people think or say.”
Relationship and age
In addition, Kimani emphasised that he is not scared of being in a relationship with an older woman as long as they love, understand and respect each other.
“For me, age is not a factor. I’m not scared of age. So long as we respect each other, we love each other, and we understand each other, we can always find a balance between that,” he stated.
Furthermore, he added that he and Zippy have never discussed the age difference, noting that despite the gap, they have a very strong bond.
“We never discussed about it, and we do not care. We have a very good bond, and the age issue we do not even talk about it,” he disclosed.
Love story
Kimani says for over three years, he was crushing on Zippy, without making a move, believing she was out of his league.
“She is a beautiful woman, she is a strong girl. I would like to call her an alpha woman, for some reason, I thought she was out of my reach,” he revealed.
He says he sent her a direct message on Facebook on her birthday with a birthday message, and he also praised her beauty.
“During her birthday in February 2025, I inboxed her, and of course, I did not get a reply,” Kimani said.
He, however, said that despite the ignored message, he went and commented on Zippy’s July 4, 2025, Facebook post about her experience on a motorbike and how she wishes to have a boyfriend who rides a bike.
“One month ago, I was scrolling Facebook and I saw Dr Zippy. She has made a post; she is on a bike, and she is enjoying herself and wrote, ‘Please find me a boyfriend who has a motorbike or who rides motorbikes,’” he narrated.
The bike fanatic added that he commented on the post, took a screenshot, posted it on his timeline, and tagged Zippy. She replied to the post and later sent him a direct message on Facebook, and that was the beginning of their beautiful love journey.
“I left a comment on the post, I screenshot the post and shared it on my timeline and tagged her; the post went viral. After many tags, she commented on my post and later she DMed me,”he stated.
