Veteran socialite and entrepreneur Vera Sidika has stirred conversations around gender dynamics in Kenya, revealing that some Kenyan men struggle with jealousy towards women, especially those who achieve success.

Taking to her Instagram account on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, Vera highlighted that the jealousy is not limited to strangers or colleagues but extends even to men’s romantic partners, be they their girlfriends or wives.

She acknowledged that jealousy is a reality in many relationships but stressed that it can sometimes undermine the support women need to thrive.

“Noticed something? Some Kenyan men are jealous of women. Especially successful women. Some men are even jealous of their own girlfriends, wives. Yes, it happens. There’s jealousy in relationships, btw (by the way),” Vera stated.

Criticism

This comes after she was forced to address rumours that she had gone broke after making a club appearance in Busia County.

“Seems like Kenyans have just discovered a new vocabulary, “recession indicator”. Kwani, what’s wrong with me making a club appearance in Busia? I love connecting with my fans in all parts of the country,” Vera Sidika stated.

Lavish lifestyle

The mother of two has never shied away from flaunting her lavish lifestyle on social media. Her lifestyle, often described as extravagant and over-the-top, is not just about flashy spending. Vera has repeatedly said that she has built a life that brings her joy, peace, and a true sense of purpose.

Vera’s love for luxury and travel is well documented. On February 21, 2025, she flaunted spending Ksh42,000 on a spa date and a luxury flight ticket to the US worth Ksh868,995.

“The massage was only Ksh42,000, but the worst, to be honest. Now I need another massage to recover from this one. Nairobi has been too hot lately, so I booked just to cool off in the snow. Guess my next destination,” she shared with her followers.

Not long ago, the mother of two revealed her 2025 travel plans. Known for indulging in luxury and first-class experiences, she shared her dream destinations with fans via Instagram stories. Her itinerary includes Bali, Mexico, the Bahamas, Jamaica, and the Dominican Republic.

“This year I’m going to travel to Bali, Mexico, the Bahamas, Jamaica again, and the Dominican Republic. Beautiful destinations,” she disclosed.

Earlier in 2024, Vera explored destinations like Qatar, Canada, the USA, and Jamaica. During a stop in Manchester, UK, she caught public attention again after undergoing a jawline enhancement. Vera, known for embracing her beauty transformations, light-heartedly addressed her evolving appearance.

“2024 This year, I have been globe-trotting and loving it! Travelled to 13 countries and done over 20 trips. Visited some more than once or twice. I need new destinations on my list next year. Suggestions are welcome.

“This 2024, I have toured the world… and toured Kenya within two weeks. Such a great balance,” she wrote, expressing her excitement to explore more African destinations in 2025″ Vera shared.
