Outspoken Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen recently penned a romantic message to celebrate his wife, Gladys Wanjiru’s 40th birthday.
In a social media post-dated Monday, August 16, the MP disclosed that he has known his lovely wife for over 20 years, further describing her as hi confidant and soulmate.
“I have known you, Gladys Wanjiru Kipchumba for 21 years. More than half of your life. You are my bosom friend, my confidant and my soulmate. You turned 40 but to me your just 16. The fourth floor looks so good on you. The party has just begun. The kids and I wish you a very happy birthday, darling,” the Senator said.
On her part, the gorgeous mother of four expressed gratitude to her friends and family who went out of their way and organised a surprise birthday party for the birthday girl.
“Yesterday, the eve of my birthday, friends and family surprised me to a birthday party. We ate, we danced, pictures were taken, speeches were made, and prayers were made! We laughed! Not only that, but we cried! We smiled! Laughter filled the air as we danced some more! I got a reminder of how blessed I am. How much love surrounds me. How much I am loved,” said Wanjiru.
Wanjiru further thanked God for her friends and family, and being healthy on her special day to celebrate the special occasion.
“As I turn 40, my heart is full. I thank God for the gift of family! Of friends who are now family! Of family that i cannot trade for any other! I am grateful to God for all of you! For being alive and healthy to celebrate with all of you. I am blessed beyond measure! So, a very happy birthday to me! I have a feeling that the next phase of life holds even greater things. More love! More laughter! More grace! More blessings! May it so in Jesus Name. Amen,” she wrote.
In a past interview, the Senator disclosed details of his dating days, revealing that his wife would send him fare so that they meet for a date.
“I married my classmate at the University of Nairobi. We met in 2000 and got married about nine years later. She is my best friend. She got a proper job before me and stood with me on the financial front. Furthermore, she sent me fare and even bought the first car we used. I appreciate her for all the support,” said Murkomen.
