Musician Willy Paul recently talked about working with Bien, one-third of Sauti Sol’s popular trio.

As a musician who is renowned for his unique style and captivating performances, Willy Paul has worked with a wide range of artists throughout his career. However, he revealed that working with Bien was an entirely different experience.

During a recent interview, Willy Paul discussed the challenges he faced working with Bien hinting that he is a little tough to work with and he is always scolding him.

“Msee lazima ukuwe na roho ngumu ukiwork na yeye ni Bien. Jamaa atakutukana hadi hiyo session iishe, yeye hutukanana tu for no reason,” Willy Paul said.

In what seemed like a joke, the interviewer was surprised to know of this revelation citing that their song performed by Bien and Willy Paul was such a great hit.

“Unacheza na Bien, by the time ngoma ifike hivyo, matusi yote ya hii dunia. Mr. Kipara tulia bana,” Willy Paul added.

The duo has worked on a song together titled Kamati ya Roho chafu, that has over 3 million views on YouTube.

Gospel vs Secular

While answering a question-and-answer session, the interviewer asked Pozze which musicians he preferred to work with both in gospel and secular.

Pozze revealed that Nandy and Alaine came at the top of his list as favourites but locally he mentioned Bien.

Gospel naweza weka wote level moja, side ya secular naweza sema kuna Nandy, Alaine,” he said.

Originally a gospel musician, Pozze is known for hits such as ‘Sitolia‘ and ‘Kitanzi‘; however, he transitioned to secular-oriented releases attaining a whole new audience.

Salvation remains personal

He remained grateful to Gloria Muliro and Size 8 for elevating him to who he is and added that the Sitolia collab was a win-win for him since he never had the funds to do the music video, and that was achieved courtesy of Gloria and her ex-husband Pastor Omba.

“Mimi hupeana credit mahali inatatikana, Nilianza kama mimi kwanza then Pastor Omba walinipigia simu niimbe an Gloria wakafund everything, for me I just wrote the song an sikuwa na hiyo pesa, mimi natoa wapi dooh ya video, ” Willy Paul added.

Asked if he would resume the gospel industry, Pozze revealed he had such a terrible time as a gospel artist but he is doing great on the secular side.

“Gospel made me, but karibu nipoteze maisha yangu huko. I do not want to point fingers or say names but they know what they used to do to me. This people painted me nikae mbaya na walikuwa wananninyanyasa, to a point I never had food and my mother was ailing,” Willy Paul stated.

The singer added that salvation to him remains personal and he stands on the ground that his reasons for quitting gospel are best known to him.
