Arbantone artiste releases tribute song dedicated to Njambi Koikai

Arbantone artistes Tipsy Gee and Ebola Mkuu have released a tribute song in honour of media personality and reggae entertainer Mary Njambi Koikai who succumbed while undergoing treatment for endometriosis.

The health advocate was undergoing treatment at Nairobi Hospital when she breathed her last on Tuesday, June 5, 2024.

This comes just days after a blood donation appeal was made on May 31, 2024, through her official Instagram page.

Celebrating her life, the artists have praised Njambi for her contribution to  Kenya’s music industry, especially the reggae genre.

“The strength of a woman is size ya muscle lazima ningeandika moja ju ya fyah mama amekuwa mama hizo time niki hustle super fam kwa reggae,” they said.

Njambi’s tribute

Known for her immense contribution to creating endometriosis awareness, Kenyans came out to celebrate the anti-endometriosis warrior.

Here are some of the tributes from Kenyans.

Radio Presenter Natalie Githinji who is also battling with endometriosis said that Njambi has fought for better health for all women fighting the chronic ailment.

“ENDOMETRIOSIS. Has taken away my best friend… I have a lot to say but i think i need time. Ei nadedi aki wadau!! Niko broken mbaya. Endometriosis will finish us. My heart is broken, bleeding, I texted you juzi tu ukiwa hosi so we could talk like we always do…Eii Jahmby umenimaliza mimi mtoto wa mama yangu. You fought for better health for all women fighting endometriosis. Babe hizi ni gani, who will tell me that this is a lie, who will help my mum chill after hearing her bestie is gone. Jahmby amka tu we fight this together… we made a promise love. You fought so hard,” she wrote.

Former sauti Sol boy band Polycarp Otieno who also sent his tribute disclosed the role Njambi played during the early stages of their band.

“Sad Day 💔💔💔 Forever in our hearts. @jahmbykoikai was our first-ever manager. Played a big part in our early stages as a band. The industry has lost a gem. The country has lost a warrior. The heavens have gained an angel. Rest in Power. Your spirit lives on forever!” he said.
