Digital creator Minne Cayy has marked ten years of marriage with a playful message about what she considers the “secret” to her lasting relationship.

In a recent video with her husband on Instagram on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, she offered what she described as ten tips for surviving marriage, only to sum them all up with one phrase: “kuwa fala.”

“That is the secret, kuwa fala. That’s it. That is the only thing. Ten tips on how to stay married? Kuwa fala. Kukua fala kama dem inasaidia,” Minne said in the clip, making it clear she was being sarcastic.

The video, which began as a serious-sounding list of lessons, quickly took a humorous turn as Minne dismissed each of the ten “tips” with the same response.

By the end, her point was that being too serious about everything in marriage might not always be helpful, and a little light-heartedness goes a long way.

Ronoh’s take on marriage

Minne’s remarks came shortly after media personality Chebet Ronoh had started a debate with her claim that “marriage hubamba mafala” — loosely translated to mean marriage only appeals to “fools.”

While Ronoh’s comments had sparked reactions, Minne chose to respond with humour, flipping the narrative by saying that perhaps “being a fala” is exactly what has kept her marriage going strong for a decade.

The comment quickly turned into a bombshell that ignited generational wars with millennials fiercely defending the aisle and Gen Z backing Ronoh’s opinion.

She and her husband, who appeared beside her in the video, recently celebrated their tenth wedding anniversary, marking a significant milestone. The couple has often shared snippets of their relationship online, but this particular message stood out for its comic simplicity.

Her light-hearted approach offered a different perspective on how couples can handle challenges in marriage. Rather than giving a conventional checklist of advice, Minne reminded her audience that humour can be just as important in keeping love alive.

As she and her husband look back on ten years together, Minne’s tongue-in-cheek “secret” has turned into a memorable lesson. Sometimes, not taking everything too seriously is what makes the journey last.
