Krg the Don slams Kenyan musicians for constant fights
Popular musician KRG the Don has criticised Kenyan musicians and artists for continuously engaging in fights over what he termed as nonsensical issues.
In a post shared on his Instagram account on Monday, July 28, 2025, the Mambo Imechemuka hitmaker expressed disappointment with local artists, stating that they constantly fight over insignificant matters while still struggling financially.
He noted that poverty is the real enemy that artists should address before engaging in disagreements.
“I don’t understand our local artists anymore; they like fighting over nothing all the time. Y’all are still struggling in life!! The real enemy is poverty. Address that first, then we can go back to fighting. What we need is unity, not fighting kama watoto wa ploti 10 all the time. Artists from other countries are uniting on projects and shows while putting their art and culture on the map,” KRG said.
KRG emphasised the need for unity among Kenyan artists instead of behaving like children constantly in conflict. He pointed out that artists from other countries unite on projects and shows, which helps them promote their art and culture on the global stage.
Kenyan artists lagging behind
He further observed that Kenya has very few international acts living in the country, despite Kenya being the only country in Africa that influences the regional sound.
According to him, artists worldwide aspire to be recognised by Kenyans first, yet local musicians are not taking advantage of this unique position.

KRG concluded by remarking that the ongoing squabbles among musicians only hold back the industry’s growth, calling for greater unity to elevate Kenya’s music on a global scale.
“Imagine Kenya has very few international acts residing at home, not knowing all other artists from all over the world have only one big dream!! to be recognized by Kenyans first because we are the only country in Africa that controls the sound regionally. Anyway, Wacha vijana wazee wajibambe,” he added.
This message from KRG, the don, comes at a time when he has been maintaining a low profile, and minimising coming out of the limelight as he used to do in the past
