KK Mwenyewe’s family issues message to Kenyans as burial preparations intensify
The family of the late comedian and actor KK Mwenyewe, who rose to fame by imitating former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, has expressed heartfelt gratitude to Kenyans for their continued support.
The family made the statement during a visit by fellow comedian Kafengo, who often featured alongside KK in popular online skits.
Their message came as funeral preparations gained momentum, with contributions continuing to pour in from across the country to ensure KK is laid to rest in a dignified manner.
During the visit on Saturday, July 19, 2025, KK’s mother emotionally thanked Kenyans for standing with them.
She described KK as her only support, stating that despite the pain, she had accepted his passing as God’s will.
She appreciated those helping with funeral expenses and acknowledged the online support, urging Kenyans to continue contributing through the till number shared.
“KK was my son. I loved him so much. He was the only support I had, but things happened as they did because of God’s will. I thank this team for helping us raise burial funds. As you can see online, people are continuing to support us through the till number. Each one of you, please continue supporting us. Thank you very much.” The mother said,
In a separate message, KK’s uncle also thanked Kenyans and appealed for continued support. He noted that the family heavily depended on KK and emphasised the importance of unity in giving the comedian a respectable farewell. He encouraged the public to keep helping just as they have done online.
“We kindly request that you continue supporting us as you are doing online. As a family, we depended on KK. I am his uncle, and we ask you to keep helping us just as you have been.” The uncle stated.
