Kafengo reflects on brotherhood with KK Mwenyewe’s cameraman as they enjoy paid trip

Days after going viral for his emotional breakdowns during his closest friend KK Mwenyewe’s burial, content creator Kafengo has taken time to remember KK’s cameraman, Mike, whom he says never abandoned them even when things were at their worst.
In a heartfelt post shared on his Facebook page on Thursday, July 31, 2025, Kafengo revealed that they were like brothers during KK’s peak years in content creation, and he spoke warmly of him, describing him as a man of integrity.
He then prayed for God to bless him abundantly for never leaving their side.
“Brotherhood, Mike, our all-along cameraman and director since we started the journey of comedy and content creation with my brother KK. God bless you, bro,” Kafengo posted.
This tribute came as the duo travelled to Mombasa for a fully funded getaway, seeking much-needed rest after the turbulent times they have endured since their dear friend KK passed away on July 14, 2025.
In a photo he shared, they were seen seated side by side on a plane, their faces bright with smiles, expressing excitement for the reprieve that awaited them.
Both donned black capes, while fans flooded the comments with comforting messages, insisting they deserved the respite given their unwavering support for KK after his passing.

Govt job
Following his friend’s death, Kafengo’s life has changed significantly, as he recently got a job from the Head of Presidential Special Projects and Creative Economy, Dennis Itumbi.
Speaking during KK’s burial in Lari, Kiambu County, on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, Itumbi said Kafengo would be employed to help in the government’s digital content creation efforts starting next week.
“Kafengo has been working with KK Mwenyewe, and many people online have told me not to assist him. Now, I will take Kafengo on. Give him a job so that he can help address matters related to digital content creation, and he will start the work on Monday,” Itumbi said.
The announcement came as a surprise to many and was welcomed by some of KK’s fans and fellow creators who knew the strong working relationship between the two content creators.
Later on, Itumbi gave an update that he had made good on his job promise, announcing that he would share his salary with Kafengo after bringing him on board to join his team.
In a statement on July 29, 2025, Itumbi introduced Kafengo as a “sharp mind” with “algebra-level precision” who will be tackling real-world challenges in the content space.
“Just met Kafengo, a sharp mind and solid guy with a degree in Mathematics with Computing. Expect algebra-level precision as he tackles real challenges in the content creation world,” he stated.

Furthermore, Itumbi revealed that Kafengo, along with his videographer Mike, will be teaming up with his content team to build new platforms and explore fresh digital territory.
“He’s teaming up with Mike (his videographer) to build new platforms with us. For now, we will share my salary, and they will still run their hustle independently. Karibu sana!” he stated.
