Kenyan rapper Kennedy Ombima, famously known as King Kaka, has showered artiste Stevo Simple Boy with heartfelt praise as the singer marked his 35th birthday.
In a video shared on King Kaka’s Instagram page on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, the Wajinga Nyinyi hitmaker is seen spending time with Stevo at a lavish residence, engaging him in an animated conversation about his career and unique content.
The two appeared to thoroughly enjoy their interaction, with Stevo eloquently recounting his viral hits, catchphrases, and his journey of growth as a Kenyan entertainer.
Stevo requests a collaboration
Amid their discussion, Stevo, clad in thrifted denim jeans and a jacket with his chest exposed, expressed his desire to collaborate with King Kaka.
He confidently declared that his coined catchphrases have gone viral and labeled himself an invaluable asset if King Kaka were to agree to work with him.
“Nilikuwa nasema nataka tufanye kazi. Tulonge kiasi. Unajua maneno yote nimeunda imetrend,” Stivo remarked.
In response, King Kaka lightheartedly advised him to cover up, joking about the chilly weather, before asking for clarification on the term Stevo used to propose their collaboration.
Stivo, visibly excited about King Kaka’s presence, laughed off the advice, claiming he was immune to illnesses and teasing that King Kaka’s concerns about pneumonia were baseless.
“Dragon moto testing waah! Sisi kama masuperstar hatuvai nguo, tunatembea uchi. Lakini inakubalika. Mimi ni anti-ugonjwa,” Stevo quipped, leaving King Kaka in stitches.
King Kaka to borrow Stevo’s phrases
As their lively chat continued, King Kaka praised Stevo’s immense talent, prompting the singer to list some of the catchy phrases he’s coined over time.
Stevo enthusiastically mentioned phrases such as maokoto, cheda, kulonga, and several others, admitting he could not even recall all of them due to their sheer number.
This inspired King Kaka to request Stivo to jot down some of his iconic phrases for him to use in his future projects. Stevo agreed, saying he would send them via WhatsApp, though King Kaka jokingly doubted it, claiming Stevo had a history of ghosting him.
“Shega, mwaki mwaki, maokoto… yaani ziko mingi sana!” Stevo exclaimed.
“Hizo mingi kweli nimeziskia. Si uniandikie pia mimi nizitumie siku moja kwa song. Lakini unasema utanitumia kwa WhatsApp na wewe hautumiangi WhatsApp sasa,” King Kaka replied with a laugh.
Dating in 2026
Recently, Stevo, who has gained fame not only for his viral catchphrases but also for his bold and unconventional fashion sense, revealed his decision to take a break from dating until 2026 after being cheated on ten times.
Speaking to content creator President Law on Monday, January 13, 2024, Stevo described that particular relationship as his worst experience, explaining how the betrayal profoundly affected him and led to his resolve to avoid relationships for two years.
“Yes, mwanamke amewahi kucheat kwangu. I’ve been cheated on ten times. Ee, niligongewa mara kumi. Mambo ya mapenzi nimechorea mpaka 2026,” the singer shared.
Stevo went on to express his frustration with dishonesty in relationships, admitting that it deeply hurts him when someone he loves betrays him. He lamented how challenging it has become to find a loyal partner.
“Siku hizi hakuna wamama waaminifu, acha nibaki single. Acha tu nikae single,” he stated with conviction, adding that he was content to remain single for the foreseeable future.
