Kathy Kiuna reacts after Sarah K narrates how her 2006 sermon helped her get rich
JCC’s Lady Bishop Kathy Kiuna has spoken after being tagged in a resurfaced video of gospel singer Sarah Kiarie, popularly known as Sarah K, in which she recounts how one of her prosperity sermons transformed her life in 2006.
The widely shared clip shows Sarah K recalling her experience at a fellowship meeting held at Charter Hall, where Reverend Kathy had been invited to minister during one of the popular Queens Nights organised by Pastor Joan.
Sarah narrated how she attended the meeting dressed in a suit she had bought for Ksh4,500, a purchase she then considered expensive, as she longed to look her best while serving in ministry.
“One time we went to those Queens Nights, those fellowships that Pastor Joan used to hold. So one day it was in Charter Hall, and she invited Reverend Kathy Kiuna, and she came. I was there in a suit I had bought for four thousand five hundred shillings, and I considered it expensive. It was not very sharp, but I liked it when people said I looked good,” Sarah says in the clip.
In her recollection, Sarah described how Reverend Kathy’s sermon centred on the power of declaration and faith, teaching believers to call things that are not as though they were.
The ‘Mnyunyizi Wangu’ hitmaker recalled Kathy emphasising that money responds to faith, and that sometimes financial struggles persist not because of a lack of effort but because one has not spoken life and favour into their situation.
“I was singing the song Pressing On inside me when Reverend Kathy came to preach. She spoke about calling things that are not as though they are, and she gave her testimony. She said that money has ears and explained that sometimes, even when you work very hard, money can still reject you,” Sarah said.

Sarah explained that the message struck her deeply as Reverend Kathy led the congregation to speak blessings upon their lives, calling money from every direction.
She recalled how the declarations became emotional as many, including herself, began to cry while speaking the words of faith.
From that day, she said, she began to experience remarkable breakthroughs, among them being able to buy her mother a piece of land in Kitengela within that same year.
“She taught us to call money from the east, and we repeated, ‘Money from the west,’ and so on. I even started saying, ‘Trace my address,’ for the money to find me. We called money until we cried. It looked foolish, but I went home calling money. From that day, money started flowing. That same year, 2006, I was able to buy my mother a plot of land in Kitengela,” Sarah said.
After fans flooded her inbox with the viral clip, Kathy eventually acknowledged it through her social media pages on Saturday, November 8, 2025, expressing delight and amusement at the resurfaced testimony.
She reposted the video while appreciating Sarah K’s recollection and encouraged others who may have drawn inspiration from similar teachings to share their stories as well.
“I have been sent this clip so many times by many people. Dr Sarah K is so hilarious. If you have run with something yourself, let me hear it in the comments,” Kathy posted.
