Kate Actress celebrates her boyfriend Michael Mwangi on his birthday
Kenyan screen queen Catherine Kamau, popularly known as Kate Actress, has penned a heartfelt message to her boyfriend, Michael Mwangi, as he marked his birthday.
In a warm tribute shared on Instagram on Sunday, August 31, 2025, Kate expressed gratitude for the love, support, and encouragement she has received throughout their relationship.

“Happiest Birthday, lover, a.k.a. mzee kangu. What a beautiful journey it’s been. Thank you for making it easy for me; thank you for encouraging me to go after my goals and not sweat the small stuff,” she wrote.
“Like you always say, ‘I got this, baby girl!’ I hope you know I got you, too.”
Kate went on to admire his qualities, describing him as a man whose kindness, ambition, and zeal for life continue to inspire her.
“Your kindness, ambition & zeal for life are so admirable. You lead me well, sir. I love it here,” she noted.
She concluded by rallying her fans and followers to join her in celebrating her partner. “Help me wish my wamateru a happy birthday,” she said.

This comes almost a year after Kate and Phil Karanja publicly announced their breakup, following five years of marriage, in September 2024.
Before that, the two had sparked breakup rumours after Kate deleted photos of them together from all her social media pages.
“We came to a conclusion to end our marriage a long while ago and are separated. We sincerely request everyone to honour our wishes for privacy for us and our children,” they said at the time.
Kate further thanked her fans, saying, “It was never a secret; we just kept it private. To all our dear fans, Asanteni sana for the support over the years.”
On his part, Phil urged fans not to read too much into their split and let them live their lives independently.
“Hii ni Mambo ya Watu wawili, but allow us to add you to the group chat kidogo, so we can proceed with our lives bila story mob. Kate and I remain as friends, co-parenting and business partners,” he wrote.
The two who have a daughter met while shooting the Mother-in-Law TV show and dated for four years before getting married.
