Tobias Shula: Heartbreak as choir man dies 2 weeks after marrying in beautiful church wedding

Choir member Tobias Shula has died just two weeks after holding a beautiful white wedding with his wife, Yolanda Mwape, bringing a sudden and painful end to what had only just begun as their married life.
The devastating news was announced by Sacred Heart of Jesus Choir of Stella Maris in a Facebook post on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, with the choir revealing that Shula had died after being involved in a motorbike collision.
The choir identified Shula as the husband of its committed member Yolanda Mwape and mourned the sudden loss of their fellow member and brother.
“Early this morning, we lost our brother Shula Tobias, the husband of our committed member Yolanda Mwape,” the choir wrote.
The announcement revealed that Shula and Yolanda had celebrated their white wedding on September 5, 2026, meaning the couple had only been married for about two weeks before tragedy struck.
“Mr Shula Tobias and Mrs Yolanda Mwape had a white wedding on 05/09/2026 this month. This morning, Mr Shula was involved in a motorbike collision. He was pronounced dead after being taken to the hospital,” the choir said.
The heartbreaking announcement came barely two weeks after the couple exchanged vows and began their journey as husband and wife, making Shula’s sudden death particularly painful for his family, friends and members of the choir.
Sacred Heart of Jesus Choir has also rallied around Yolanda and the family following the tragedy, asking God to give them strength as they come to terms with the sudden loss.
“May God strength our sister Yolanda and the family in this difficult time. We’re together in this most difficult time,” the choir wrote.
The choir ended its emotional announcement with a cry of anguish over the devastating turn of events.
“God, your will hurts me 😭😭😭😭,” the choir said.
The death has since disrupted plans that the choir had been preparing for, with the Sacred Heart of Jesus Choir later announcing the cancellation of an upcoming trip because of Shula’s funeral.
In a subsequent Facebook update, the choir announced that its planned visit to the English Choir of St Margaret Mungwi would no longer proceed as scheduled.
“The trip has been cancelled due to the funeral of our late brother Mr Shula Tobias Mutale. Until further notice,” the choir announced.
The choir asked its members and supporters to come together in mourning as the family and church community prepared to lay Shula to rest.
“Let’s mourn together. Burial programme will be communicated,” the choir added.
The cancelled trip had been scheduled for September 25 to 27, with the Sacred Heart of Jesus Choir of Stella Maris Mpulungu expected to visit the English Choir of St Margaret Mungwi at St Margaret Parish, Mungwi.
