Media personality Jacque Maribe has opened up about the persistent assumptions linking her to Dennis Itumbi, revealing why her photos dominate online searches for “Dennis Itumbi’s wife.”

Speaking during an interview with the Off The Grid podcast on Thursday, September 4, 2025, the veteran journalist said she first became aware of the online phenomenon when fans jokingly asked if she had a wedding with the State House official, leaving her surprised.

“Someone has told me before that they’ve been looking for wedding photos of my wedding with Dennis, and I was like, ‘Was there even a wedding between us?’ Then one day someone said, ‘Have you ever tried to Google Dennis Itumbi’s wife?’ Omg, I am the one who comes up fully there, just my photos. It’s only me. When you click images on that search, it’s all me,” she said.

Maribe explained that a simple Google search for “Dennis Itumbi wife” returns mostly her images, a situation that has caused ongoing curiosity and speculation.

She added that the digital footprint has extended beyond social media, often prompting people to associate her personal and professional achievements with Itumbi.

“Even at work, people assumed Dennis had secured jobs for me. At this point, I cannot even go to the supermarket without being asked where Dennis is. Up to today, it happens,” she said.

The journalist recounted how the assumptions have affected everyday life, from work environments to casual encounters.

She noted that even routine trips to supermarkets have sparked questions and comments about her relationship with Itumbi.

On one occasion, Itumbi himself shared how shoppers had asked for selfies, with some assuming he had left Maribe at home.

“One day Dennis called me and said he went to a supermarket and people asked him for a selfie; he told them he had left me at home cooking because he had no more responses,” she added.

Maribe further revealed the lasting impact of these rumours, saying that people continue to make incorrect claims about her child, suggesting that the child bears a resemblance to Itumbi.

Despite repeated attempts to clarify the truth, she admitted that the ongoing assumptions remain a constant challenge, affecting both her personal life and public perception.

“We have tried to quell the assumptions. Of course, it has affected us. We’re going to die single. I am single myself. Some even said my child is his; they claimed the child looks like Dennis.”
