Iyanii promises free show for Harambee Stars over CHAN 2024 performance

Kenyan multitalented singer Ian Oure, widely known as Iyanii, has promised to stage a free performance for the Harambee Stars in appreciation of their efforts at the ongoing 2024 CAF African Nations Championship (CHAN) tournament.

Speaking with excitement in a video shared on his official Instagram account on Sunday, August 17, 2025, Iyanii praised the national football team for their impressive run and the love they have shown him.

The Pombe hitmaker went on to congratulate the team for their excellent displays so far in the tournament.

“Harambee Stars players have shown me so much love and so much support, and in return, at any stage Harambee Stars is going to get to, I promise I will be doing a free performance for them. We are so proud of you so far, Kila kitu mumekuwa mkifanya imekuwa excellent, and we wish you nothing but all the best,” Iyanii said.

Iyanii also expressed his joy after learning that one of his songs has become a favourite among the players

Additionally, he rallied Kenyans to turn out in large numbers to support the team that will be playing against Zambia at Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani.

“This is a call to every Kenyan let’s turnout in numbers, twende tuwa support,’ he urged.

Harembee Stars’ performance

Since the beginning of CHAN 2024, the national team has been receiving widespread praise for their stellar performance.

Harambee Stars kicked off their campaign in style with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over DR Congo at a packed Kasarani Stadium on Sunday, August 3, 2025.

They followed it up with a spirited display, holding Angola to a dramatic 1-1 draw in a fiery Group A clash at the Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani, on Thursday, August 7, 2025.

The Stars then stunned fans once again with another hard-fought 1-0 victory, this time against Morocco, further cementing their reputation as serious contenders in the tournament.

On Sunday, August 17, 2025, they will be playing against Zambia.
