Guardian Angel reveals plans to build his own church before 2026

Gospel artiste Guardian Angel has announced that he plans to build a church before the end of the year, expressing deep gratitude to God for what he described as an extraordinary season of blessings.

The ‘Wakati wa Mungu’ hitmaker shared the announcement on Instagram on Saturday, October 4, 2025, saying he was not seeking financial support from his fans or followers but only their prayers as he begins the project.

In his post, he wrote that God had been exceedingly good to him and that his heart was set on honouring that goodness through the construction of a place of worship.

“I am going to build a church before the end of this year. Mungu amekuwa mwema sana kwangu. Siombi mchango wenu, maombi pekee inatosha.” The post, written partly in Swahili, read.

The Swahili part translates to “God has been very good to me. I am not asking for your contributions, only your prayers.”

The artiste’s declaration comes with less than three months left before the year comes to a close, setting an ambitious timeline for the completion of the project.

Guardian Angel noted that his motivation was purely spiritual, adding that he wanted the church to be a symbol of thanksgiving and a testimony to divine favour.

Shift to secular music

The announcement comes hot on the heels of his revelation that he can never shift to the secular industry.

Speaking during a candid conversation with Alex Mwakideu, the musician said that he believes that the secular industry cannot be friendly to him, even if it generates more income.

Even though he is a talented singer who can sing other genres, Guardian says he prefers sticking to gospel, where he is more experienced.

“Mimi siwezi amka leo nisema anaimba secular, yani hatakama the secular industry unafeel kama sahii ndio iko na biashara siwezi, kwa sababu hiyo secular inawork for hao and it doesn’t work for me,” he revealed.

“Yes, I am a talented artiste. I can sing. I can sing about love, but it does not work for me. What works for me is gospel, to sing about the things that God can do because this is what I have experienced better.”

He went on to say that, contrary to what other people claim about gospel songs not having good returns, he once earned Ksh22 million from his catalogue.

“The most I have made is about Ksh 22 million from my catalogue,” he revealed.
