Veteran stand-up comedian Daniel Ndambuki widely known as Churchill has sent a financial appeal to Kenyans and the entertainment industry as they continue to mourn the sudden death of the iconic comedian Fred Omondi.
Through his official social media pages, the comedian on Thursday, June 20, 2024, pleaded with Kenyans to contribute towards giving the late Fred Omondi a befitting send-off.
Churchill further shared the phone number of comedian and activist Eric Omondi who is Fred’s elder brother, and asked fans to channel their contribution directly to the contact.
“Kindly spare a thought for him during this difficult time. Any financial contribution can be channelled directly to him on 0726 959 111 (Eric Omondi),” Churchill said.
“Let’s hold him up in love, light and support, It’s our time to hold him and support him as he has done to so many of us.”
Churchill also disclosed that Eric is in the process of making funeral arrangements.
“Dear Friends and Fans, Sorrowfully, Eric Omondi and ourselves lost our younger brother Fred Omondi on Saturday, June 15, 2024, through a road accident, Eric is in the process of making arrangements to give Fred a befitting send-off back at home,” he said.
Fred’s funeral preparation
According to the committee preparing for his decent final send-off, Fred’s memorial Service will be held in Nairobi at the CITAM Church on Valley Road on Thursday, June 27, 2024, from 11:00 am.
His remains will be airlifted to Sumu on Friday, June 28, 2024, before travelling on the road to Sega in Siaya County courtesy of the KUPA organization and the burial Service and Ceremony will be on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at his home on Sega, Slaya County from 10:00 am.
Fred’s tribute events
Churchill will host a tribute show dubbed, ‘Fred’s Last Laugh’ at the Carnivore Restaurant, Simba Saten on Friday, June 21, 2024, from 6:00 pm.
On Saturday, June 29, 2024, Fred’s last dance tribute will be held at Da Place Club and Restaurant in Kisumu County.
Captains Lounge and Grill which is located along Mombasa Road, hosted a candlelight party on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, in honour of the late Fred who used to host a nightclub show every Wednesday dubbed ‘Seductive Wednesday’.
