Family reveals Betty Bayo’s health struggles before death

Gospel singer Betty Bayo has died after a short illness, her family has confirmed. Speaking at the Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) private wing, the family’s spokesperson announced that Betty passed away at 1:03 pm.
The spokesperson on Monday, November 10, 2025, said the family wanted to end the rumours surrounding her death and share the truth about what happened.
“We want to tell the public that today at 1:03 pm, we lost Betty Bayo. It is no longer a rumour, it is the truth,” she said.
According to the family, Betty had been unwell since last week and was battling acute blood cancer.
“Betty was unwell since last week… she had acute blood cancer. She was suffering from excessive bleeding, and the doctors tried to do their best,” the spokesperson said.
The family added that doctors at the hospital worked tirelessly to save her life, but were unable to reverse her condition.
“She was transferred here on Friday. The doctors have tried their best, but the will of God has prevailed,” they said.
Family confirms transfer of her body to KU Referral Hospital
The spokesperson further explained that the family is making arrangements to move her body from Kenyatta National Hospital to Kenyatta University Referral Hospital.
“We are planning to move her body from Kenyatta National Hospital to KU Referral, and all other communications will come later,” the family said.
The family described Betty as a loving person whose life and music touched many people. They said her death is a huge loss to those who knew and loved her.
“The life of our dear friend… rest in peace, we loved you, but God loved you more,” the spokesperson concluded.
Betty Bayo’s passing has left her family and friends heartbroken as they come to terms with the loss. Plans for her burial and memorial services will be communicated by the family at a later time.
Betty’s life and career will be remembered for the inspiration she brought through her music and the kindness she showed to those around her.
