Self-proclaimed President of comedy Eric Omondi has taken an issue with Nigerian singer Omah Lay for failing to do a music collaboration with his alleged girlfriend and Kenyan music star Tanasha Donna.

Addressing reporters on Saturday evening, Omondi said that it was unacceptable for Omah Lay to come to Kenya, stay for over two weeks and leave without doing a song with Tanasha.

Omondi’s outburst comes months after the Forever hitmaker visited Kenya and stayed in the country for over two weeks while performing in various shows both in Nairobi and Mombasa.

During this time Omah Lay is believed to have been staying together with Tanasha in one of the hotels in Mombasa. At the time, the two – Oma and Tanasha – would be seen sharing videos and photos of the hotels in which they were both staying.

Omondi now says it is not okay for Omah Lay to stay in the country for that long and leave without having collaboration with Kenya’s music artiste. According to him, it is a show of disrespect for Omah Lay to snub Tanasha and go and seek collabos with other foreign music stars such as Justin Bieber.

“Omah Lay left the country and went and did a music collaboration with Justin Bieber leaving out Tanasha.

He was with Tanasha in Mombasa for two weeks. Are their no studios in Mombasa? Where is the value for our money? Omah Lay came here, did shows in Mombasa and Nairobi. He went and spent that money he got in Kenya in his collaboration with Justin Bieber,” Omondi said.

The funnyman’s statement comes at a time when he has been pushing Kenya’s music promoters to stop inviting foreign artistes to perform in the country and leaving out the local ones. He has also been petitioning for the country’s media to play 75% of local content.
