Obinna made the revelation on Monday, October 6, 2025, just moments after the news of Shalkido’s death circulated online.
According to Obinna, the club manager, whom she identified as Naomie, came through for Shalkido, booking him back-to-back for gigs at the club in Lamu.
“A word of thank you to Naomie, the lady in the club in Lamu who gave Shalkido his first gig when he just came back, and we booked him for the show in Lamu,” Obinna revealed.

Much bigger gig
In addition, Obinna revealed that the same lady had already booked another gig for Shalkido at the same club; however, the second gig was much bigger, as he asked him to come over with a whole band.
“He was already booked for a second show in the same club in Lamu, and they had said they wanted him to go back with a band. Thank you for believing in him!” Obinna revealed.
The media personality further extended gratitude to Eric Omondi and the team, who contributed to ensuring the late Shalkido could get a new motorcycle that would aid his movements.
Another team that also came through for Shalkido was a furniture store, where Obinna revealed they helped him secure a one-year deal.
“Dignity furniture, when I told you guys to let us come through for Shalkido, you came. Team Sisi kwa Sisi and Eric Omondi, when he came out, you guys gave him a motorbike to try and earn a living with. Thank you very much,” he stated.
