Day DJ Lithium showed his absolute passion for music (VIDEO)

Kenyans woke up to sad news of the passing of Capital FM’s DJ Alex Murimi alias DJ Lithium.

DJ Lithium reportedly took poison inside the Capital FM offices on Wednesday, January 19, and was later rushed to Nairobi hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Lithium who has been in the industry for eight years worked as a DJ and a radio producer.

In a past interview with K24 TV, he says he has been passionate about music since his high school days.

“I’ve loved music since high school. I used to sell music CDs to classmates for around Ksh200,” he said.

Later after high school, he joined Daystar University and secured a show with varsity’s radio station(Shine FM) as a DJ.

After completing campus, he got an internship opportunity at Capital FM for around one and a half years and has worked there until his demise.

He says his parents and family were quite supportive of his passion and even bought him his DJ decks.

He advised fans to practice consistency and patience as key traits in the industry.

His favourite music genre was South African house music.

Before his death, Lithium reportedly deleted all his social media accounts and texted close friends and family telling them he is gone.
