Dama Wa Spares advises Karangu to prioritise family to avoid total downfall

Popular city businesswoman Damaris Muriithi, alias Dama Wa Spares, has cautioned Kikuyu gospel singer Karangu Muraya about the dangers of his current personal choices following the leak of another audio recording of him and his first wife, Triza Njeri, arguing.
The audios, capturing tense exchanges between Karangu and Triza, have thrust his family and personal life into the public eye, prompting Dama to step in with advice she described as honest and necessary.
In a post shared on Facebook on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, Dama urged Karangu to take full responsibility for his actions, stressing that the leaked audios were a direct result of his own decisions and that he should not shift blame to others.
“To my good friend Karangu Muraya, I may not be the right person to advise you, but allow me to be honest with you on this: a true friend will tell you what you are supposed to hear, not what you want to hear. A true friend tells you the truth, regardless of how bitter it is! Karangu, you know I have fought countless times for you, online and behind the scenes, but remember what I have been insisting and keep telling you,” she wrote.
She emphasised the importance of protecting his family, brand, and personal reputation during this turbulent period.
“You will never win by standing with the side chick who doesn’t care about your downfall, who doesn’t put your brand into consideration, or your children and the image of your family, friends and relatives,” she added.

Dama encouraged Karangu to remove family affairs from social media, warning that public exposure of private matters only fuels misunderstandings and amplifies personal conflicts.
She called on him to surround himself with sober and wise advisers who could guide him toward peaceful co-parenting and effective management of family issues.
“Don’t blame those who spread the audios; blame yourself for recording them, then blame the kambiti for releasing them. You are aware it’s her who did that, otherwise no blogger has access to your personal phones,” she added.
The businesswoman also highlighted the role of religious and community leaders, urging them to provide honest counsel rather than watch silently as personal and family matters escalate.
She questioned how leaders can claim guidance and spiritual authority if they fail to protect families from unnecessary turmoil, emphasising the moral responsibility they carry in situations affecting children and households.
“To the religious leaders who are standing with Carol, watching Karangu’s downfall in the name of a side chick, you are failing him terribly. Which religious leader supports polygamy? Which church leader supports kids suffering in the name of a side chick? Don’t be hypocrites; tell Karangu the bitter truth: he is losing while defending a side chick who has totally nothing to lose.”

Dama stressed that confronting the truth and taking decisive action are Karangu’s most powerful tools.
She noted that only through honesty, wisdom, and careful management can he safeguard his family, maintain his influence, and preserve his public image.
She added that these steps are essential not only for resolving the immediate crisis but also for securing long-term peace and stability in his personal and professional life.
“Karangu, nothing will set you free but the truth, and the truth is, you are losing it over a side chick, who always creates wrangles then hibernates instead of fighting for you, and when battles and dust settle, she comes out courageously into your pages to prove she is the one you love, to provoke Triza. Be wise; we hope this too shall pass, but the power is in your hands. Clear the mess if, at all, you wish to redeem yourself. I pray for your peace, knowledge and wisdom.”
