Content creator Elodie Zone is mourning the demise of his younger brother, Gachui Karanja.

According to reports, the 20-year-old man died after falling from the 5th floor of an apartment in Riruta, Nairobi on Saturday, March 19.

In an Instagram post, Elodie penned a tribute to his departed brother, detailing the impact that he had on her life and the times he came through for her when she faced trolls on social media.

“Forever in my heart, forever in my prayers. You and I were never supposed to cross paths but the universe gave me a baby brother in you.

“You pushed me to work harder, helped me move into my first apartment, was a shoulder to cry on and kept me protected from a lot of harsh things people would say about me online. I love you forever baby bro,” she wrote.

Elodie also penned a comforting message to their mother who was equally hit hard by the tragedy.

“Love you mom. I’m so far away, so thanks for being there for both you and I. You’re also God sent,” she said.

According to a report in a local publication, Gachui was among eight people partying in a residential apartment in Riruta when he left and stood at the balcony.

It was at the balcony when Gachui who was thought to be intoxicated slipped off and fell to his death.

Those in attendance said they heard a scream which was followed by a thud and when they rushed to find out what was happening, they looked down the balcony and saw Gachui lying in a pool of blood.

Confirming the incident, Deputy Regional Police boss James Mugera said they are yet to establish if the incident was an accident or there are other reasons behind his death.

“We suspect he was intoxicated at the time he fell but we are also investigating to establish if there were other issues that led to this tragic incident,” he said.
