Comedian Butita has shared his insights on his role in Bahati and Diana Marua’s new reality show which airs on Netflix.
In an unexpected turn of events in June 2023, Eddie Butita and Bahati engaged in a deep conversation about the future of content creation.
As Butita revealed, Bahati took the initiative to connect with him, seeking his creative insights and expertise.
Sharing on his Instagram, Butita disclosed that many creatives had turned Bahati’s idea down but Butita instead reassured him that it would work out eventually, at the right time.
Butita also shared his network adding that it was because he believed in Bahati’s vision.
“Last year, around June, @bahatikenya came to my place, and we had a lengthy conversation about the future of content and film production. Many people had turned him down, but I remember telling him that great content will always find its place at the right time,” Butita wrote.
The conversation between the two artists reportedly delved into innovative ideas and strategies to elevate the quality of content in the entertainment industry.
Butita, known for his wit and humour, revealed he was excited about Bahati’s new project.
Butita’s excitement peaked when Bahati shared the news that their discussions had led to a groundbreaking development – The Bahati’s Empire show being picked up by Netflix.
“I shared a few networks with him because I believed in his vision. The rest is history. I’m happy to see The Bahati’s Empire on Netflix, trending at number one. This is a fantastic project.” hii hata hata haikuhitaji kiki hii ni kali vile iko, congratulations champ,” Butita added.
Bahati’s new Netflix show
On June 7, 2024, Kenyan musician Bahati launched his new reality TV show that revolves around him and his family.
A few days after its premiere and trending at number one, singer Bahati has opened up on the cost of producing their new reality show, ‘The Bahati’s Empire’.
Bahati said the show’s budget was 47 million, which is quite modest compared to what he predicts it will cost to produce the second season of the Netflix series.
“Hii ilikuwa season 1. The cost of production was Sh47 million. So season 2 we are looking at going a notch higher…Maybe a Sh100 million. So yeah..” Bahati explained.
Bahati and his wife Diana became the first Kenyan couple to feature their reality show on the streaming service.
