Bahati tattoos Diana Marua’s name on his arm before unveiling 5th gift
Musician Kevin Bahati is taking grand gestures to a new level as he celebrates eight years of marriage to his wife, Diana Marua.
In an ongoing series of surprises leading up to their anniversary, Bahati has pledged to present eight extravagant gifts to commemorate each year of their union.
On Friday, February 21, 2025, Bahati etched ‘Diana B’ on his arm in a public display of affection, capturing the moment in a video uploaded to the couple’s widely followed YouTube channel.
“So I want to do a tattoo of your name. Before I give you gift number five, this is how we start it,” Bahati told Marua, who appeared visibly moved.
Following the tattoo session, Bahati handed his wife two meticulously wrapped packages, which contained Bass headphones and a new MacBook laptop.
The gesture marks the halfway point in the couple’s eight-gift journey.
Earlier in the week, Bahati presented what has been the most talked-about gift so far: a 42-unit apartment complex under construction in Ruiru, a rapidly developing town northeast of Nairobi.
Diana took to Instagram on Wednesday to share the news, posting a video tour of the yet-to-be-completed property.
“Diana B apartment under construction. Built with a lift, the top floor is a penthouse with a Jacuzzi and a swimming pool. Gift number three is now on YouTube, presented by my hubby Bahati Kenya. It can only be God,” she captioned the post.
While many fans have praised Bahati’s devotion, some observers raised eyebrows, suggesting the elaborate gift series could be part of a publicity strategy.
A construction company prominently featured in the apartment tour video led to speculation that the couple may be leveraging their anniversary celebrations for promotional purposes.
Love story
Bahati and Marua’s love story dates back to July 2016 when they met for the first time during the filming of his music video ‘Mapenzi’ and fell head over heels in love at first sight.
The two lovebirds ultimately got married in a traditional ceremony on October 20, 2017.
As they approach their eighth anniversary this year, the couple continues to command attention both for their personal milestones and their ability to blend private celebrations with public spectacles.
Neither Bahati nor Diana Marua has publicly addressed the scepticism, instead focusing on their celebration of love and family.
