Bahati confident Kenya will thrash Morocco after promising Harambee Stars Ksh1M
Gospel singer Kevin Bahati has expressed strong confidence that the Harambee Stars will secure a decisive victory over Morocco in their crucial African Nations Championship (CHAN) Group A match at Kasarani Stadium on Sunday, August 10, 2025.
Speaking ahead of the high-stakes encounter in a video shared on his Instagram stories, Bahati revealed his excitement and commitment to supporting the national team in person.
“It’s all about the matchday, and you all know Harambee Stars will win this cup,” Bahati said.
He further shared that he already owns a white jersey for Team Kenya, while his wife Diana has a red one.
“So this white jersey is mine, while the red is likely Diana’s. So let’s go today and paint the stadium white and red with the jersey,” he added, encouraging fans to fill the stands with vibrant colours and unwavering support.
This statement came just a day after Bahati had publicly promised to reward the Harambee Stars with Ksh1 million if they defeat Morocco, a pledge he has reaffirmed.
Then, he made it clear that the reward was intended as a direct incentive to the players, not to management or officials.
The ‘Mama’ hitmaker also revealed that he would carry the hefty sum in cash to the stadium and, together with Diana, present it directly to the players immediately after their victory.
“We are doing something very special, my wife and I. We will bring this 1 million to the stadium if they beat Morocco because we must qualify by any means necessary. If they beat them, we will enter the stadium with this money. This money is not for management or anyone else; it will go directly to the players. So if you beat Morocco, do not embarrass us. Those Moroccans act all fancy; it will be courtesy of us. Harambee Stars, you are ours,” Bahati said.

The Harambee Stars will be eager to maintain their unbeaten run in the tournament as they take on Morocco, a two-time CHAN champion, at Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani.
The match promises to be a thrilling test, especially after Kenya’s resilient 1-1 draw against Angola on August 7, where they played most of the game with ten men but still managed to salvage a crucial point.
Political figures have also joined the chorus of support, with Mumias East MP Peter Salasya promising to watch the game shirtless in a dramatic show of encouragement, while Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi praised the team’s fighting spirit and urged them to bring that energy against Morocco.
Coach Benni McCarthy has prepared the team for a difficult challenge, describing Morocco as unpredictable and dangerous on the counterattack.
“If we can keep our defensive and midfield lines tight, we will get our chances,” Benni emphasised.
Kick-off is scheduled for 3:00 pm EAT, with hopes high that the Harambee Stars will paint the stadium in Kenya’s colours and edge closer to the knockout stages of CHAN 2025.
