Nyaboke Moraa is marking one year since she lost her 19-year-old daughter, Achieng, on July 28, 2024.

Taking to social media on Monday, July 28, 2025, the content creator poured out her pain in an emotional tribute that touched the hearts of many.

She shared a radiant photo of Achieng smiling, alongside a deeply moving caption that read:

“Today marks exactly one year since you left the world, and left with my heart. My little girl, jameni. How do I live like it is ok? Every day is a different kind of pain Mungu wangu. My Achieng jameni. I don’t know how to say rest in peace. Sijui kabisa. One year down, forever to go.”

Achieng, who passed away at only 19, was Moraa’s daughter with influencer Blak Aende. She was laid to rest on August 10, 2024, in a private ceremony. The family has never revealed the cause of her death.

Living with loss

In the months following the tragic loss, Moraa openly admitted that life had lost all meaning. She revealed that she struggled to do the simplest of things—getting out of bed, eating, or even speaking. Grief, she said, swallowed her whole.

She confessed that at one point, she turned to extreme coping mechanisms to deal with the pain, hinting that she was trying to numb the crushing emotions that came with losing a child. Her openness about this raw and dark period drew a lot of empathy from her fans, many of whom had followed her journey from the start.

Refusal to seek therapy

Moraa has also made headlines for refusing therapy, despite encouragement from fans. In an earlier post, she brushed off therapy as unnecessary, saying jokingly that she’d rather use that money to buy milk for her children.

While some fans respected her stance and applauded her honesty, others urged her to consider therapy, not just for herself but for the sake of her other kids. Still, many flooded her recent post with words of support, calling her strong and praying for her continued healing.

Her message stands as a heartbreaking reminder of the enduring grief that comes with losing a child.
