Uncertainty as police officer reports loss of firearm from his house ceiling

A police officer attached to Border Patrol Police Unit on Sunday evening lost his firearm which was hidden in the ceiling of his house.

Nelson Massai, who is based in Kanyonyo Headquarters in Kitui County, made a report at Tarakwa police station saying that he had lost the firearm; a Ceska pistol which also had 15 rounds of ammunition.

“The officer who is on leave and lives within Ainabkoi in Kajiado County reported that he lost his firearm whose serial number is not known which had 15 rounds of ammunition,” the report read in part.

It further revealed that the officer informed his colleagues at the station that he had wrapped the firearm with a piece of cloth.

He also said that some items which include; a national Identity Card, one jungle trouser, one Administrative Police pullover were also missing.

Police officers visited the scene only to find out that there was no breaking into the house.

Meanwhile, an abandoned car at Bissil, Kajiado County attracted attention to an extend that locals informed the police.

The car of registration number KCE 509L a Toyota Vitz was abandoned by two men who left the engine running.

The car is currently held at Bissil Police Station.
