TSC announces over 2,000 job vacancies countrywide

The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has announced 2,014 teaching vacancies nationwide to replace teachers who exited the service through natural attrition.
The recruitment exercise aims to hire 1,309 teachers in primary schools, 32 in junior schools, and 673 in secondary schools on permanent and pensionable terms.
“The teachers recruited will serve on Permanent and Pensionable terms of service,” a notice published in the latest edition of MyGov reads.
Applicants must be Kenyan citizens and registered teachers with the Commission to be eligible for the positions.
Eligibility
According to the notice, candidates applying for primary school positions must possess a P1 certificate, while those applying for junior or secondary school slots must hold at least a diploma in education, with a minimum of a C+ in KCSE and in two teaching subjects.
Similarly, applications must be submitted online via the TSC portal at www.tsc.go.ke or teachersonline.tsc.go.ke by midnight on Monday, May 19, 2025.

The commission emphasised that only online applications will be considered and warned against double submissions.
“Filling out two or more Application for Employment Forms will lead to disqualification,” TSC warns in the notice.
Applicants who TSC has never employed will be given priority.
Additionally, persons with disabilities are encouraged to apply, per TSC’s commitment to equal opportunity employment.
TSC also issued a strong warning against fraudsters seeking to exploit applicants.
“The recruitment exercise is free of charge. The Teachers Service Commission forewarns applicants against fraudsters who might extort money from unsuspecting persons purporting to assist in recruitment,” the notice stated.
