Super Metro issues statement after Juja Road accident

Super Metro Limited, a public transport provider in Nairobi, has released a statement following a road accident involving one of its buses.

The incident occurred on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, along Juja Road in Juja, where the bus collided with a lorry. The company expressed regret over the event but confirmed that no lives were lost, with only two individuals sustaining minor injuries.

According to Super Metro’s statement, preliminary reports suggest the lorry was swerving at high speed before the collision.

“Super Metro Limited regrets to confirm that one of our buses was involved in a road incident this morning along Juja Road, involving a collision with a lorry,” the statement read.

Safety and cooperation

The company has reported the matter to Juja Police Station and is fully cooperating with authorities to investigate the cause and ensure proper action is taken. Super Metro emphasised their commitment to passenger safety.

“Super Metro Limited remains steadfast in upholding the highest standards of transport responsibility, prioritizing the safety and well-being of our passengers and the public,” they stated.

They also assured customers that they are working closely with the relevant authorities to resolve the issue swiftly. The incident occurred near Burudani Address. Emergency teams and bystanders at the scene were observed assisting the injured and administering first aid while waiting for medical support.

The bus was travelling from Juja Town to Nairobi CBD, using the Thika Superhighway service lane, before it veered off the road and flipped onto its side.
The driver and passengers in the front were compelled to escape by crawling through the broken windscreen. Super Metro thanked their customers and stakeholders for their support.

“We thank our customers and stakeholders for their understanding and support as we address this incident,” they stated.

They also provided contact details for their customer service team, encouraging open communication during this time.
