During his tour, the Head of State visited and commended the Kenyan contingent working alongside their Haitian counterparts.

“President William Ruto arrives in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, 100 days after flagging off the Kenyan police contingent of the Multinational Security Support Mission (MSS) to Haiti.

“The President is in Haiti to assess the progress of the MSS mission, visit and commend the Kenyan contingent working alongside their Haitian counterparts, and meet with the Transitional Presidential Council, led by H.E. Edgard LeBlanc, as well as members of the Haitian Cabinet,” Mohamed stated.

Ruto prays for victory

A video shared by Mohamed shows President Ruto leading the Kenyan contingent in a prayer and worship session before addressing them.

In his praise and worship song, President Ruto encouraged the Kenyan police that indeed God has done wonders for them and that he will give them victory.

Ametutendea (x2)….Emmanuel ametutendea….tutapata ushindi (x2)….Emmanuel tutapata ushindi..,” Ruto sang before leading in the prayers.

The Head of State prayed for peace and stability in Haiti and that God lead the Kenyan police contingent to defeat the Haitian gangs in two weeks’ time and head back home.

Ruto jets out

President Ruto was on September 20, 2024, seen off by Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki as he departed for New York in the United States to participate in the 79th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).

He was accompanied by First Lady Rachel Ruto for the trip.

In a statement on Friday, September 20, Mohammed announced that the event is one of the most significant global forums that brings together world leaders to address critical international issues, with a particular emphasis on sustainable development, global governance, and climate action.

Mohamed added that Ruto will advocate comprehensive and accelerated reforms of multilateral institutions, including the United Nations, to ensure they remain relevant to current urgent challenges.

“At the ‘Summit of the Future’ forum organised by the UN, he will call for a thorough review of the multilateral system, highlighting its inability to effectively address interrelated crises such as climate change, the debt burden, complex conflicts, and the erosion of democratic governance,” the statement read in part.
