Ruto says union with Moi will take Kenya to the next level
President William Ruto has stated that his political partnership with KANU leader Gideon Moi will usher in development and improve the living standards of Baringo residents and Kenyans at large.
Speaking during a rally in Baringo County on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, the president described the union as a new beginning that would bring positive change to the region.

He assured the people of Baringo that the days of conflict between him and Moi were over.
“Nyinyi mnajua mimi na ndugu yangu Gideon Moi tumeketi chini tukaongea. Si ndio? Mimi na yeye ni ndugu moja, si ndio? Na tumekubaliana tunatembea pamoja, si ndio? Hatutaki ile maneno ya zamani ya kugawana hapa na pale. Tuungane kwa sababu umoja ni nguvu,” Ruto said.

The president’s remarks emphasised that their collaboration will focus on delivering tangible benefits to the people of Baringo.
Ruto outlined his vision for the county, focusing on infrastructure development, improved security, and economic opportunities that would transform the region.

Reconciliation for a stronger Kenya
A few weeks ago, Ruto also reflected on his outreach to Gideon Moi in the spirit of national unity.
Speaking on October 10, 2025, the President revealed that he reached out to Moi for a broader political reconciliation aimed at uniting Kenya.
“I have looked for my brother Gideon and told him it is time for us to move Kenya to the next level,” Ruto said.
The President stressed that the union with Moi was not driven by political interests but a commitment to elevate the country beyond individual ambitions.
He further noted that reconciliation was essential for Kenya’s progress, saying, “This is because the destiny of Kenya is far greater than what I can get, what Gideon can get or what the next leader can get.”
In uniting with Moi, Ruto seeks to lay the foundation for a prosperous and united future for Baringo and the entire nation.
