President William Ruto has left Ukambani residents and Kenyans guessing.

Speaking exclusively to Ukambani-based media houses on Thursday, November 13, 2025, Ruto steered clear on whether he would work with Wiper boss Kalonzo Musyoka.

During the media engagement at Kitui State Lodge, the Head of State dismissed claims that he was courting Kalonzo ahead of the 2027 general elections.

“As to matters regarding the relationship between political parties, those are discussions that are just politics. I am not here to discuss matters of politics,” Ruto stated.

He emphasised that his attention remains on development projects across Ukambani rather than engaging in what he described as political distractions.

“I am here to discuss the development of the great people of Ukambani, and I will limit myself to that.

“Matters of politics we will discuss when the right time comes, and everyone knows how they will handle their political issues,” Ruto added.

The President also highlighted his commitment to completing Uhuru-era projects, drawing a comparison with former President Kenyatta.

“The former President recently said that it took him about two and a half years to complete most of the projects started by his predecessor, and I have also done just like him,” Ruto said.

Kalonzo keeps a low political profile

While Ruto remained tight-lipped on alliances, Kalonzo Musyoka attended a birthday celebration in Nairobi for His Majesty King Charles III, hosted by the British High Commission.

Through his Facebook account, Kalonzo posted a message noting, “It was a great honour to join friends from the United Kingdom community here in Kenya this evening to celebrate the birthday of His Majesty King Charles III.

“On my own behalf, I extend my warm congratulations and best wishes to His Majesty and to the people of the United Kingdom.

“His Majesty’s lifelong commitment to caring for our environment and promoting sustainable development continues to inspire many across the world.

The two leaders have not given any indications of formal political engagement, leaving speculation about possible alliances ahead of the 2027 polls unresolved.

Equally, various political analysts led by Herman Manyora believe that 2027 is likely to be a Kalonzo moment.
