Raila Odinga’s remains now in Kenyan airspace aboard KQA203

The plane carrying the late former Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s remains has now entered Kenyan airspace as thousands track the influential leader’s journey home.

The plane will touch down in about 50 minutes.

The flight KQ203 departed Mumbai on the morning of Thursday, October 16, 2025, carrying the body of the late former Prime Minister Raila Odinga back home.

The six-hour flight is expected to touch down at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) at around 9:30 a.m., marking a deeply emotional moment for Kenya and beyond as the nation prepares to receive one of its most iconic leaders.

Throughout its journey, thousands of Kenyans, both locally and abroad, have been closely monitoring the aircraft’s progress on live flight tracking apps such as Flightradar24 and FlightAware. The flight, which left Mumbai slightly later than scheduled, has drawn massive attention online as it makes its way across continents toward Nairobi.

A day earlier, the Kenya Airways plane that transported a government delegation to India to oversee the repatriation process, flight KQA202, had already captured global attention. It became the most tracked flight on Flightradar24, with more than 7,000 people following its route in real time.
