Police officers in Rongai Sub-County, Nakuru County, have nabbed 19-year-old Ezekiel Kwame Mwangi, a suspected serial killer who has been under investigation for his reported role in a series of chilling murders in the area.
In a statement shared by the Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI), Mwangi is said to have kicked off his reign of terror on July 14, 2024, when he defiled and murdered five-year-old Alice Ayuma Blessing, before casually dumping her body in a maize plantation in the Mwangaza area.
“Police officers from Baraka Police Station in Rongai Sub-County, Nakuru County, have apprehended a suspected serial killer, Ezekiel Kwame Mwangi, 19 who has been on the police radar for his alleged involvement in a series of brutal murders in the area,” the statement by DCI read in part.
But the suspect didn’t stop there. Just weeks later, on August 7, 2024, he reportedly struck again in Kalyet, brutally killing 34-year-old Mueni Mwalimu by giving her a fatal blow to the head with a blunt object and following up with a stab to the stomach.
“Mwangi is believed to be the mastermind behind several heinous crimes. On July 14, 2024, he allegedly defiled and murdered five-year-old Alice Ayuma Blessing, dumping her body in a maize plantation in the Mwangaza area. On August 7, 2024, in Kalyet, he is suspected of killing 34-year-old Mueni Mwalimu by striking her on the head with a blunt object and stabbing her in the stomach,” the DCI stated.
The very next day, August 8, 2024, at Mustard Seed in Kiamunyi, along the Nakuru-Eldoret Highway, he reportedly capped off his crime spree by raping and murdering 28-year-old Moraa Mugambi using a rungu to the head.
“The following day, on August 8, 2024, at Mustard Seed in Kiamunyi, along the Nakuru-Eldoret Highway, Mwangi allegedly raped and murdered 28-year-old Moraa Mugambi by hitting her on the head with a rungu. The suspect is currently being held at Menengai Police Station undergoing processing pending arraignment,” the statement read further.
