A police post in Kirinyaga County has been temporarily closed after all police officers attached to it contracted Covid-19,
According to information accessed by K24 Digital, Gathoge Police Post will remain shut for the next 10 days following the development.
The ministry of health from the county government has fumigated the entire police post and at the same time directed its closure.
All services requiring the attention of the police post has been referred to Kutus Police Station.
The development came at a time when 745 new cases of Covid-19 were recorded across the country sample size of 6,209 tested in the last 24 hours. Thus, representing positivity rate of now 12 per cent.
This brings the total confirmed positive cases in the country to 212,573 and cumulative tests so far conducted are 2,197,015.
