Nominated Senator Karen Nyamu set social media abuzz after sharing stunning photos from Jubilee-nominated Member of Parliament (MP) Sabina Chege’s lavish yacht birthday celebration.

Sabina, who turned 47 on August 22, 2025, looked radiant as she marked the milestone in style.

Taking to her official Facebook account on Saturday, August 23, 2025, Nyamu raised a toast “to life, to happiness, to friendship 🥂” as she celebrated her close friend, wishing her “new victories in this new chapter.”

The glamorous yacht party was not short of colour, laughter, and powerful company. Nyamu and Chege were joined by Taita–Taveta County Woman Representative Lydia Haika, further amplifying the spirit of sisterhood among women leaders.

The photos showed a glowing Sabina Chege surrounded by friends in all-white outfits, enjoying the luxury bash that exuded class and warmth.

Nyamu affectionately referred to her as “maitu” — a Kikuyu term of endearment meaning “our mother”. The lawmakers have been at the Coast over the past week for the 3rd Leadership Retreat of the National Assembly.

Over the past years, Sabina Chege has been throwing lavish birthday parties to mark her big day. However, in 2021, she chose to celebrate it differently by choosing to donate money gifted to her during her star-studded birthday party.

At the time, she stated that she would give the money to Bishop Gatimu Kinyona Girls High School in Murang’a County.

She disclosed that she received Ksh7 million from her colleagues and friends who attended her surprise birthday party, which was attended by Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru.
