Nairobi Woman Representative Esther Passaris has expressed dissatisfaction after American Vice President Kamala Harris lost the 2024 US presidential elections.

Passaris, who had publically endorsed and vouched for Kamala’s presidency in a statement via her X official account on Thursday, November 7, 2024, said that her heart was full of hope for America and the world but after the loss, it is empty with despair.

In addition, the vocal MP stated that she believed Kamala would have been the best president since she had a great vision for the country, unlike her opponent Donald Trump.

She further urged Trump to ensure during his tenure all human rights protected by the Constitution are respected and upheld.

“My heart was full of hope not just for America but the world, but now it is empty with despair @KamalaHarris was that fullness of hope! @realDonaldTrump is the emptiness brought by the knowing that he will ‘fix’ the helpless and hopeless Americans as he attempts to keep his blatant promise to fix America even if it means taking away the human and humane rights fought for and earned through blood and sweat from one generation to the next generation. Whether right or left-wing all rights protected by the constitution should be respected and upheld,” she expressed her dissatisfaction.

Passaris rant

This is not the first time Passaris has aired her frustrations on social media overreactions to the US presidential election results.

On Wednesday, November 6, 2024, Passaris expressed her frustration while responding to a parody account impersonating journalist Larry Madowo that posted a remark targeting US Ambassador to Kenya Meg Whitman for not congratulating Donald Trump on his election victory.

Passaris criticized the account’s premature take, emphasizing that the US election had not been formally concluded.

“Meg Whitman has not congratulated Trump so far,” the tweet from the account humorously observed, sparking an impassioned reply from Passaris.

“Seriously. You should know better than to expect @USAmbKenya to react to media reports. The election has not been decisively concluded. Has it? Who has congratulated him? You just trying to stir something that needs no stirring using a commentary account riding on a journalist who knows better. Freedom of speech should have limits. Get my drift?” Passaris ranted.

The Guardian reports that Republicans are on track to win the popular vote in a presidential election for the first time in 20 years, with Donald Trump leading Kamala Harris with 72.5 million votes against nearly 68 million on Wednesday night after winning the electoral college earlier in the day.

Harris conceded on Wednesday afternoon, urging Americans devastated by the result to “not despair” but to stay engaged and remain vigilant in the fight to protect American democracy.
